Warmed Sesame Chickpeas

My kids will happily sit down and eat plain chickpeas. I prefer something a little more flavorful… So I started experimenting with easy seasoning combos the other day and came up with this simple sesame chickpea dish. My children and I have enjoyed them numerous times for dinner when my husband is away at work. Otherwise, it makes for a great evening snack before bedtime.
Can’t you tell how easy it is for my children and I to survive on the simplest, yet most nutritional foods? Yet, I am forced to spend extra time in the kitchen to cook extravagantly for my husband!!  I don’t mind because, truthfully, who doesn’t enjoy big luscious meals throughout the week?!
If you soak and cook your chickpeas in advance or use the canned beans, you can whip this up in less than 5 minutes.
Simply warm up your chickpeas and season them with raw sesame seeds, nutritional yeast, sea salt and pepper. Serve with a piece of fruit and dig in. It’s both satisfying and filling for those days when you can’t fathom standing in the kitchen for any period of time. Especially when you’re not in the mood to clean up after dinner!
For those of you unfamiliar with nutritional yeast, you can find it at your local health food store or on Amazon. It adds a slightly cheesy flavor to your recipes and is perfect for vegans.
